Bayatinge Supports WYSO! 03/14/2010
WYSO is a gem in our community. The local programming is top-notch & the variety of music that they serve-up is out of this world! I am so proud that my little business has grown to where I am able to donate to this wonderful station! WYSO is always on when I'm in the studio! If you're a listener and you haven't donated during their pledge drive, you can still go to http://www.wyso.org/ and give them a hand! Featured on Etsy's Blog! 03/07/2010
I have been getting thousands of hits & lots of sales over the weekend (thank you!!!) and I just discovered that all of the noise was due to the fact that I was listed in the Etsy blog - the Storque - WHOOO HOO! A Little Valentine? 02/12/2010
Happy Valentine's Weekend Everyone! I will be on vacation until Feb 22nd. I am heading to California to see my sister and her family. She is due to have her second little girl on Feb 14th! Hopefully, the baby will take after my brother and decide that she wants to pop into the world as a Valentine baby (and not be like my sister who was a month late!). I am hoping that I get to meet her and get a few cuddles in before I have to come back to Ohio. My shop is still open and I will be checking email, but I won't be able to ship anything until the 22nd. -xoxo- My timing has been oh so good this week. I was able to grab another treasury spot on Etsy. For those of you who aren't familiar with this process, there are limited spots in a treasury, so when they open up you grab it quickly, pick a theme, and feature your favorite items that match the theme. the treasury link is good for two days & the possibility of scoring a spot on the front page. It's great fun and a wonderful way to discover & promote new shops! I hope that you check them out & enjoy! http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=112076 Here are the shops that are featured in my treasury tonight. amazing totes & nature inspired art - http://www.etsy.com/shop/willywaw digital art - http://www.etsy.com/shop/DigiMarthe unique handmade jewelry with really cool textures & design - http://www.etsy.com/shop/shopJoliette blissful beauty & aromatic products - http://www.etsy.com/shop/crystalwood cool limited edition handscreened art t's - http://www.etsy.com/shop/Ahpeele super-neat metalsmith - http://www.etsy.com/shop/stoneaddict the most fun & unique vegan soaps that I have ever seen - http://www.etsy.com/shop/DirtyAssSoaps fun contemporary art prints - http://www.etsy.com/shop/MichelleDigital a short westcoast artist with cool photos - http://www.etsy.com/shop/beautifuldarklight a fellow etsy veg team member with gorgeous sustainable/organic designs - http://www.etsy.com/shop/ravissant plant & animal nature photography - http://www.etsy.com/shop/CNStevenson Cheers! Recycled Beer Bottle Coasters. 02/09/2010
I love working to come up with new ideas for my glass work, but I must admit - prepping for this project was a blast. These fused glass coasters were created from empty beer bottles. Each bottle is fused in my kiln and cooled very slowly. The entire fusing process takes about 6 hours from the time that I turn my kiln on until the firing is done, then the glass cools for quite a few more hours. The end-product is great! I haven't started selling these yet, look for them in my Etsy shop early March! Special thanks to Todd for being able to "prep" a lot more bottles than I could! Introducing... 02/08/2010
Fused Glass Tiles! I have been making more & more fun glass items for the home, and now I'm introducing fused glass tiles. These would be awesome in a kitchen or bath remodel. They would make an incredibly unique backsplash or really brighten up a dull bathroom! For those not wanting to make any drastic changes, these tiles also can be made into wall art, or even simple coasters. Each tile in this series is 4x4 inches square. They're all hand cut glass, so some slight variations may occur. Pictured below are a few tiles from my mix-n-match mod circles collection and one tile is from my underwater collection. A few more pictures are on my fused glass page, but it's dark and cloudy today, so thMany more will be available soon! |
